We built Convenor to make this ecosystem more efficient, and the European ambition more achievable.
Governance is work done by people: in rooms, through relationships, over years. This charter sets out what we believe about that work and what we are building for it. Convenor for EU projects is where we start.
A field underserved by technology
We spent years in the political and policy ecosystem, in Brussels and across Europe, before we could name what we kept seeing: a field underserved by technology, improvising, patching together systems built for other kinds of work.
The fault runs both ways. Technology companies never went deep here, partly because they have not done the work and do not know its processes. And inside the ecosystem, we learned to accept the pain: institutional memory that leaves with every departure, spreadsheets nobody opens twice, and no way to show, in measured terms, the impact everyone can feel.
Six articles we build by
The work happens between people
Policy is shaped in consultations, missions, working groups and long conversations. Technology should serve those moments, and never pull people away from them.
Memory belongs to the institution
What was said, agreed and learned should stay when people move on. An organisation that stops forgetting can build on its own experience.
Tools should fit the work
This field has been served by systems made for sales, marketing or construction. We build for how governance and policy work is actually done, as people who have done it.
Accountability should cost less than the work
Reporting, evidence and compliance matter. They should come from the record of the work itself, not from weeks of retyping it.
Impact should be visible
Everyone in this field can feel the difference their work makes. It should also be possible to show it, in measured terms, to funders and to citizens.
Trust comes first
Data stays in Europe, stays with the organisation that owns it, and is shared only on purpose.
Convening, made deliberate; memory made actionable.
Behind those words is a conviction: Governance and policy work become more impactful when technology fits the way the work is actually done, carries the mundane, and leaves people the part that matters: the room, the relationship, the argument. Tools that support the process make collaboration easier. Institutions that stop forgetting become more sustainable.
Convenor for EU projects is only the start
EU-funded projects
Where the gap between the work and the tools is widest: many partners, strict rules, heavy reporting, and relationships that must outlast a single contract. We started here because we ran these projects ourselves.
Every organisation that convenes
Ministries, parliaments, think tanks, foundations and international organisations run on the same things: people, meetings, decisions and results. The same record serves them all.
Governance that learns
Institutions that remember what they did, see what worked, and carry that knowledge into the next decision. That is the innovation in governance we are working towards.
